We've had this conversation with countless clients at the barre: as a society we are so focused on the number on the scale to tell us “how we are doing in terms of our fitness when we really shouldn't be using it as our main gauge. While it's difficult to let go of a weight obsession, it's more important to focus on trying to look and feel your best, rather than necessarily weighing your lightest. We recommend taking measurements or gauging how your clothes fit to track progress. Our studio's focus is building lean muscle through our low-impact exercises to help you look and feel more toned and sculpted. And when we say muscle, we are talking about feeling and looking stronger, more defined and leaner - not bulkier, let there be no question. What you gain from strength training at the barre is much more than could ever be reflected on a scale: our exercises are designed not just to burn calories, but to build that lean muscle mass and while you'll look better as a result, that's just the beginning. You'll gain:
- Increased bone density, reducing your risk for injury & osteoporosis
- An increased metabolic rate: muscle is much more efficient at burning calories than fat - the more muscle you create, the more calories you'll burn all day (& the leaner you'll look!)
Join us in turning your eyes away from the scale and rather, trying to eat and exercise to simply feel and look better at whatever weight that might be! And by the way, we happen to specialize in making exercise just about as fun as it can be, as well!"We've had this conversation with countless clients at the barre: as a society we are so focused on the number on the scale to tell us how we are doing in terms of our fitness - when we really shouldn't be using it as our main gauge.
